Characteristic and Management Of Oro-Maxillofacial Trauma in Emergency Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery During Covid-19 Pandemic: Retrospective Crosssectional Study

AbstractIntroduction: Oromaxillofacial traumas comprise injuries to the face, jaws, or both that are largely caused by physical forces, foreign bodies, burns; they include injury any of bony structures, skin, and soft tissues around face. Maxillofacial trauma is related human activity mobility, so traffic accidents highest cause. During Covid-19 pandemic, was mostly at home with movement restrictions. This paper aims describe types characteristics management oromaxillofacial during covid-19 pandemic emergency room RSUP Dr.Hasan Sadikin Bandung Hospital.Methods: A cross-sectional study conducted evaluate every maxillofacial in patients treated oral surgeon Hospital. incidence records were taken directly from case reports department surgery January 2020-December 2021. The variables considered were: patient age, gender, etiologies, sites, classifications, trauma. All information found then integrated into a table be analyzed epidemiologically. Result: 177 registered report. It gender ratio, female male, equal 2.3: 7.6. 18-36 age group accounted for largest subgroup sexes. Motorcycle as much 80.22% etiology most common traumas. While dentoalveolar (28.22%) site fracture, followed mandible (23.31%). Injuries mouth make up portion (62.15%) regarding area impacted injuries, face (18.64%) nose combined (6.21%). Among mentioned above, 10.17% hospitalized.Conclusion: can concluded this accidents, mainly motorcycle crashes, primary cause traumas, males being more prone accidents. Meanwhile, fracture fracture. For reason, we might better prepared all resources necessary diagnose treat future.
